More about Dana's Crew

I'm going to tell you all about Coco. We rescued Coco from the pound when she was 8 mos. old... Joe (finance) talked several times about wanting a German Shorthair Pointer... I figured I had time to change his mind before we actually got one...

Well, he called one day and told me about her being in a pound and that she was going to be put to sleep soon... I had to go see her... We both went to meet her and we both fell in love with her... He really wanted a German Shorthair Pointer for hunting... I really wanted a little dog or a calm dog to be just a family pet...

Well, I do have both with Coco... Please don't get me wrong - we have come a long way since we got her... I first thought to myself what was I thinking... She's too hyper and too out of control... She was a mad women... Going through training has made a major difference... as well as the help and support I got through the board...

We do not have her paper work but that doesn't matter to us... We had no intentions on showing her... She has so far been a wonderful family addition.. As for hunting, she seemed to fail last time she went... We'll see how she does this year... She does point at everything and has a major obsession about birds... We think she has potential... She also is NOT gun shy...

We both love her to pieces... She's very smart and she does think on her own... She also has the most expressive eyes you have ever seen... I must say that she's not the little love dog I imagined someday getting but I can say I wouldn't trade her for the world... I also can't imagine myself with any other breed...

Coco just turned 1 in January. I'm also pleased to announce that she just graduated Basic Training and will be taking Advanced Training starting in March. Joe is very hopeful that she'll be able to have enough training in her for next years hunting season.

We also have rescue kitties, Sneakers - who is our oldest of the children.. He was adopted from a Petsmart when they had an adopt a pet day. I got him when he was about 6 months old..

Checkers - who is our troubled middle child... Checkers was born outside of the building I use to work in. I saved him when he was only 4 weeks old.. A little too young to be away from his mother but it was either that or risk him getting hit by a car or killed by a wild animal.
